The Captain French Surgery is open at the following times:-

Please note - our phones are diverted to CHoC at 6.30pm each evening.

We offer an Urgent Access Clinic where you can be seen on the same day for urgent problems.

We also offer telephone appointments, which can be very useful to follow up problems or deal with issues that do not require a physical examination, if possible please ring after 10am.

Minor Illness Clinic - To see a Practice Nurse who has been additionally trained to deal with common acute illnesses e.g. coughs, colds, rashes

Treatment Room - e.g. Dressings, injections, ear syringing, travel vaccinations

Health Care Assistant - e.g. Blood Tests, Blood Pressure checks

When We Are Closed

When the surgery is closed, the Cumbria PCT Out Of Hours service called CHoC (Cumbria Health on Call) will deal with all medical emergencies. Please telephone (01539) 720241 and if the surgery is closed a recorded message will give you the telephone number to ring to contact CHoC.

Please do not misuse the emergency system  

NHS Direct

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

We are closed on the following afternoons for staff training from 1.00pm until 8.00am the following morning:

Prescriptions will be available from Rowlands Pharmacy from 1.00pm-5.00pm.
